Pokémon Card Value: How to Check What Your Card Is Worth
A Pokémon card is worth what copies in the same condition have recently sold for, not what sellers are asking. Find the set and card number, judge the condition, then look up sold prices on TCGplayer, eBay, PriceCharting or PSA's auction records. Grading changes everything: a raw Charizard ex 199/165 had a TCGplayer market price of $324.63 in October 2026, while a PSA 10 copy in Godpack's packs is valued at $1,601.
The demo is free with no sign-up. Godpack packs hold one real card each, from $1, and every card shows its market value.
How to check what your Pokémon card is worth
- Identify the exact card. Read the set symbol and the card number in the bottom corner, such as 199/165, and note the variant: holo, reverse holo, a pattern foil, 1st Edition or a promo stamp. The same Pokémon can be worth a few cents or hundreds of dollars depending on which printing it is.
- Judge its condition honestly. Check the corners, edges, surface and centering under a bright light. Price guides quote Near Mint for raw cards, so whitening, scratches or a crease mean your card is worth less than the guide price.
- Look up sold prices, not listings. Check the TCGplayer market price for raw cards, eBay sold listings for every condition and grade, PriceCharting for raw and graded history, and PSA's auction prices for slabs. Asking prices are only what sellers hope to get.
- Match the price to the grade. Use the raw price for an ungraded card and the price for the exact grade and grading company for a slab. A PSA 10 can sell for several times a raw copy, and a PSA 9 can sell for about the same as a raw one.
A card number like 199/165 means card 199 in a set of 165 regular cards. A number above the set total marks a secret rare, usually an Illustration Rare, Special Illustration Rare or Hyper Rare, and those are where most of a modern set's value sits. "Raw" means ungraded; a "slab" is a card graded and sealed in a case by PSA, CGC, Beckett (BGS) or TAG.
Pokémon card values: raw vs PSA 10
Grading is the biggest single swing in a card's price. The table puts the TCGplayer market price for a raw Near Mint copy next to the value Godpack shows for a graded copy of the same card in its packs. On modern cards a PSA 10 ran from about 2 to 14 times the raw price, while a PSA 9 sat close to raw and sometimes below it.
| Card | Raw | Graded |
|---|---|---|
| Charizard ex 199/165, 151 | $324.63 | PSA 10 $1,601 (4.9×) |
| Mega Charizard X ex 125/094, Phantasmal Flames | $623.20 | PSA 10 $1,626.16 (2.6×) |
| Mega Greninja ex 116/086, Chaos Rising | $127.82 | PSA 9 $155 (1.2×); PSA 10 $380 (3.0×) |
| Mega Gardevoir ex 178/132, Mega Evolution | $171.05 | PSA 9 $175 (1.0×); PSA 10 $332.02 (1.9×); CGC 10 $350 (2.0×) |
| Pikachu ex 179/131, Prismatic Evolutions | $44.02 | PSA 10 $321.53 (7.3×) |
| Articuno 161/159, Journey Together | $15.31 | PSA 10 $210 (13.7×) |
| Mega Charizard X ex 109/094, Phantasmal Flames | $20.04 | PSA 10 $118 (5.9×) |
| Glaceon ex 150/131, Prismatic Evolutions | $257.53 | PSA 9 $245 (0.95×) |
Raw prices are TCGplayer market prices for Near Mint copies, read through TCGdex and last updated October 14, 2026. Graded values are what Godpack showed for the slabs in its packs on October 20, 2026. Prices move every day and are not guaranteed.
Two patterns stand out. Cheap cards with a strong following gain the most from a 10, because the slab is rarer than the card: Articuno 161/159 is a $15 card raw and a $210 card in a PSA 10. And a 9 is not a 10: the PSA 9 Glaceon ex is valued below a raw copy, because buyers of a raw Near Mint card are paying for the chance it would grade higher. If you are deciding whether to grade, see what PSA grading costs and when it pays.

| Tool | What it shows | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| TCGplayer market price | An average of recent completed sales on TCGplayer, by card and condition. The standard for raw English cards. | Raw cards only. On thin markets a few sales set the price. |
| eBay sold listings | Actual sale prices for every condition, grade and language. Tick "Sold items" in the filters. | Read each sale: damaged, fake or mislabeled cards sit next to clean ones. |
| PriceCharting | Sold listings, mainly from eBay, combined into one value per condition and grade, with price history. | The ungraded price mixes conditions, so it can run low for a clean card. |
| PSA auction prices and Population Report | Sales of PSA-graded copies by grade, and how many copies PSA has graded at each grade. | PSA slabs only. A small pop count can mean scarce or just new. |
For a quick answer, a raw modern card's TCGplayer market price is usually enough. For anything graded, vintage, Japanese or worth more than about $100, check eBay sold listings for the exact grade too. Paid tools such as Card Ladder add charts and alerts, but the underlying sales are the same.
What makes a Pokémon card valuable?
Rarity
Special Illustration Rares, Hyper Rares and the new Mega Hyper Rares are the hardest pulls in a modern set and carry most of its value.
The Pokémon
Charizard, Pikachu, Umbreon and the Eeveelutions, and Gengar sell for far more than other cards of the same rarity.
Condition and grade
A clean copy that grades 10 can be worth several times a raw one; whitening and creases cut the price fast.
Edition and print run
Early Wizards of the Coast cards with a 1st Edition stamp, and the first "shadowless" Base Set print without a drop shadow beside the art, sell for much more than later prints.
Language
Japanese and English versions of the same card are priced separately, and some cards exist in only one language.
Population
How many copies have been graded at a given grade. Fewer PSA 10s usually means a higher PSA 10 price.
Condition matters even on older cards in lower grades. In Godpack's packs on October 20, 2026, a raw Base Set Chansey 3/102 was valued at $29.66 and a PSA 7 copy at $75. For the record prices at the very top, see the most expensive Pokémon cards and the rarest Pokémon cards.

How Godpack values Pokémon cards
Every card in a Godpack pack shows its market value, so you see what each possible pull is worth before you open, and what the card you pulled is worth after. Each pack holds one real Pokémon card, a Near Mint raw card or a PSA or CGC slab. Once you pull a card you can ship it home or sell it back for its value minus a 5% fee, lower for VIP members. A PSA 10 Mega Greninja ex valued at $380, for example, sells back for $361.
- Prices: Starter $1, Trainer $10, Arena $25, Ultra $50, Master $100; the demo is free.
- Shipping: $5 per card in the US, $10 to Canada. Ship any time within 7 days while the card is in your vault; after that it sells back automatically.
- Odds: every pack shows its full odds before you open; see how the odds work.
A price guide is not a promise
Every price on this page is a snapshot. Card values rise and fall with new sets, reprints and demand, and the price you get when selling depends on fees and on finding a buyer. Godpack packs work the same way: every pack is set to a 100% expected return, so the average card across the pool is worth the pack price, but any single pack can be worth more or less than you paid, and most pulls land in the lower tiers of the odds table.
Real packs are for people 18 or older, or the age of majority where you live if higher. Open them for collecting and fun, not to make money.
FAQ
How much is my Pokémon card worth?
Find the set and card number in the bottom corner, judge the condition, then check recent sold prices for that exact card and condition on TCGplayer, eBay sold listings or PriceCharting. Most common cards sell for under a dollar; the value sits in rare and graded cards.
What is the best free Pokémon card value checker?
The TCGplayer market price is the best quick check for raw English cards, because it averages recent completed sales. For graded, vintage or Japanese cards, check eBay sold listings and PriceCharting as well.
How much more is a PSA 10 worth than a raw card?
It varies by card. In October 2026, a PSA 10 Charizard ex 199/165 was valued at about 4.9 times the raw TCGplayer price and a PSA 10 Articuno 161/159 at about 13.7 times, while PSA 9 copies sat close to raw.
Why are Pokémon card prices on eBay so different?
Active listings show what sellers are asking, not what cards sell for. Filter by sold items and compare copies in the same condition, grade and language.
What makes a Pokémon card valuable?
Rarity, the Pokémon on it, condition and grade, edition (1st Edition and shadowless on early cards), language and how many graded copies exist. Charizard, Pikachu and Umbreon cards carry a premium in every era.
Are Pokémon card prices going up?
Some are and some are not; prices change daily and no guide can promise a future price. Check a card's price history on PriceCharting or TCGplayer before you buy or sell.
How does Godpack value its cards?
Every card in a Godpack pack shows its market value before and after you open. You can ship a card you pull or sell it back for its value minus a 5% fee, lower for VIP members.
